But also understand that this grief is part of the process of growing into your new role. Embrace it, and let it serve as a reminder that change, while sometimes painful, is also an opportunity for growth.

2. Redefine Your Priorities

Motherhood is hard, and it’s okay to admit that. When I first became a mom, I thought I had to “do it all”—to be the perfect mother, the perfect wife, the perfect friend. But the truth is, there is no such thing as perfection in motherhood.

There will be days when you feel like you’ve conquered it all—your baby is happy, the house is clean, and you’re even able to carve out some time for yourself. But there will also be days when things feel chaotic, when you’re exhausted and overwhelmed, and when you doubt yourself.

In those moments, remember to be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can, and that’s enough. Don’t judge yourself by an impossible standard of perfection. Allow yourself the space to grow, to struggle, and to learn along the way.

But it’s important to remember that your body has done something incredible. It’s created life, nourished a child, and adapted to the physical demands of motherhood. Be gentle with it as it continues to heal and adjust.

Reconnecting with your body doesn’t mean trying to bounce back to a pre-pregnancy version of yourself. It means accepting and loving the body you have now. Practice self-care, listen to your body’s needs, and take things one step at a time. The more you nurture your body, the more empowered you’ll feel as a woman and as a mother.
